The quick answer
Only about a dozen casino buffets are still running in Las Vegas, down from more than 50 before 2020. The ones left fall into three groups: big Strip spreads at $60–92, brunch-only buffets at $45–60, and locals' buffets off the Strip at $20–38.
For the best food, go to Bacchanal at Caesars Palace (dinner $86.99–91.99) or the Wynn's seafood dinner ($79.99). For brunch, Wicked Spoon at the Cosmopolitan. For value, South Point's Garden Buffet or Main Street Station Downtown, both under $40.
Prices go up on holidays and busy weekends, and the cheapest slot at most Strip buffets is a weekday brunch or the late-lunch window before dinner pricing starts.

What each kind costs and when to go so you pay the lower price.
Strip dinner buffet
The famous Vegas experience: separate stations for carved meats, Asian dishes, Italian, Mexican, seafood and a long dessert counter. Bacchanal and the Wynn are the two Strip buffets that still serve dinner every night.
How it works: Book a time if the buffet takes reservations, arrive hungry, and walk the whole line once before filling a plate. Drinks beyond soda, coffee and juice usually cost extra.
Crab and seafood night
Several buffets save their crab legs and shellfish for one or two nights a week and charge more for them. Palms adds lobster on Wednesdays and Thursdays; South Point and Rampart run seafood nights on Fridays; Bellagio does a Saturday seafood dinner.
How it works: Check which night the seafood is on before you go, because the same buffet serves no crab on other nights. Palms asks for a reservation for its lobster night.
Brunch-only buffet
Some of the best-known Strip buffets now close in the early afternoon. Wicked Spoon serves food in small individual portions instead of big trays, and Bellagio's weekday brunch is one of the cheapest ways to eat at a luxury hotel.
How it works: Go late in the brunch window for lunch dishes as well as breakfast. Weekend brunch costs about $5 more than weekdays.
Bottomless mimosa brunch
A buffet brunch where the mimosas are part of the price. Palms includes them every day; Excalibur includes them on Saturdays and Sundays.
How it works: You need ID showing you are 21 or older for the mimosas. If you don't drink, Excalibur's weekday brunch is the same buffet for less.
Locals' casino buffet
Neighborhood casinos such as South Point, Main Street Station and Rampart run cheaper buffets with prime rib dinners, themed nights and weekend champagne brunches. The food is simpler than on the Strip, but you pay about half.
How it works: Players club members pay less at South Point, and at Main Street Station and Rampart from the higher card tiers.
Downtown all-you-can-eat dinner
Downtown Las Vegas has the cheapest buffet dinners in town. Freedom Beat at the Downtown Grand changes its theme by night: tacos on Thursday, prime rib on Friday and Saturday, steak on Sunday.
How it works: Downtown buffets serve dinner only on some nights, so check the day before you go, then walk to the Fremont Street light show afterwards.
